Tree protection when slacklining
The following should be considered when slacklining with trees as anchors:
- Tree diameter of at least 30 cm at anchor point, increase the diameter with higher tensions.
- Tree protection sits between the slackline webbing/slings to prevent damage to the bark of trees. This also helps to distribute the pressure across the uneven surface of a tree.
- Slings should be as wide as possible to distribute force on the tree – avoid thin ropes/slings/webbing/dyneema.!
