We absolutely LOVE Wilderness Wear here at Adventure Co and heres why:
Wilderness Wear is a one-of-a-kind company. They have many competitors, but nobody is quite like them. (Nothing comes close, really.) Wilderness Wear are the only Australian company that designs and self-manufactures premium outdoor clothing at internationally recognised standards, supporting a discerning, worldwide community dedicated to outdoor activities, pursuits and adventures.
The company is well known for producing its core range of technical outdoor clothing over many years, refining and developing items from season to season. It is equally dedicated and adept at conceiving dynamic new products to represent the brand
It is a constantly developing enterprise, although one thing has never changed: The Wilderness Wear range is produced for enthusiasts by enthusiasts. So, when they are not making products, their staff are out there using them. Wilderness Wear’s history begins with socks and an old Tasmanian hosiery company purchased in 1989. Upon relocation to Melbourne, the established sock range was redefined with a new item, the now iconic ‘Kosciuszko’ hiker sock.
At the same time, development of ultra-premium polypropylene thermal base layers into the range marked a significant turn. Expansion of product was under way and the company had successfully positioned itself to manage large contracts supplying military, corporate, public service and institutional customers.
Every part of Wilderness Wear is Australian. First, all of their products are made in Australia. They see that as a significantly better prospect than outsourcing to less experienced labour forces in countries beyond our shores. Second, Wilderness Wear supports the natural produce of our glorious country because they believe it to be the best. And third, they maintain ready-to deliver stock in all their major customer markets: Australia, Japan and the US.
Today, Wilderness Wear and who run it remain expansive, always looking for challenges and opportunities with a thirst for improving the old and defining the new.
